MEET THE DOCTOR
Jean C. Valdez, DMD
Dr. Valdez grew up in Ecuador and moved to the United States with his family when he was 15 years old. His father was a professional soccer player in Ecuador, and his mother was a dentist who owned a dental clinic. As a young kid, Dr. Valdez played soccer in many soccer leagues. In the U.S., he graduated from the University of South Florida (USF). He had the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua with an organization called the Global Dental Brigade to provide dental care to underserved communities. He also joined the dental foundation Sonrisa Feliz to provide dental services to underserved people in Ecuador.
Additionally, during his time at USF, Dr. Valdez had the privilege of being apart of the Latino Scholarship for two years. He graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in May 2020. Following in his footsteps, his youngest brother is currently studying at the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Valdez has several hobbies. Since he was a kid, his primary sport has been soccer, which he still loves playing as a hobby. Additionally, he enjoys going to the gym early before work and cooking, especially Ecuadorian dishes.
